A Just Russia party chief Sergey Mironov said in 2022 that the reintroduction of the preparatory military courses would „systematically prepare citizens for a possible confrontation with the enemy.“

Similar courses regularly ran across the Soviet Union up until the curriculum was changed following its collapse.
