Duchess Sophie sparks fan frenzy in chic blazer and striking £1,000 trousers | Royal | News

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has sparked a fan frenzy in chic blazer and striking £1,000 trousers during an engagement in Greater Manchester on May 15.

The Duchess, who is often deemed one of the most popular royals, stepped out for a poignant visit to The Seashell Trust in Cheadle.

The charity, who has benefited from the patronage of the Royal Family since 1897, supports children and young adults with complex learning difficulties and additional communication needs across the UK.

Sophie stepped out in a white Altuzarra blazer paired with wide-legged Roland Mouret Ward Boucle trousers, which are a re-wear from 2017 and retails for £1,012.

Looking delighted to be in attendance, she also sported Penelope Chilvers wedged espadrilles, a white leather Valextra Iside mini bag and a Birks diamond maple leaf pendant necklace. Sophie completed her look with her signature twisted up-do style and natural make-up.

Fans took to X to comment on how much they loved the look – especially the trousers.

One fan commented that the trousers are a „definite win“, with another pointing out that the pieces „go so well together“.

A third fan commented: „This outfit is divine and suits her so well. I’ve fallen for the trousers – fabulous!“

Also praising the royal, another fan commented: „Wow, Sophie looks amazing, loving the trousers [heart-eyed emoji].“

Expressing their love for the look, another fan wrote: „She looks fantastic. I want those pants!!! [red-hearts-emojis].“

Commenting on a post by @royalfashionpolice on Instagram, one fan commented: „Sophie looks really great here! I’m not usually a fan of double breasted blazers on women because they seem too bulky but this is a great fit.“

As well as looking relaxed about spending time chatting to those in attendance, Duchess Sophie also tried out a tricycle from Ice Trikes Limitless, which provides bikes for both able bodied and adaptive use.

During the visit, Sophie also listened in to a music class at the Seashell Class and used a spade to turn the earth at the new college construction site.

On Tuesday, May 14, Sophie joined her husband Prince Edward to become the first members of the Royal Family to visit a new memorial statue of Queen Elizabeth II.

Paying a visit to Oakham, Rutland in the East Midlands, Sophie and Edward went to the town’s library, which is now home to the first memorial statue of the late Queen. The statue also features her beloved corgis at her feet.

Taking time to take in the meaningful tribute, Sophie couldn’t help but pet the statue’s of the late monarch’s beloved corgis.
