Jev, who is known for exploring towns across the UK for his TikTok channel, recently visited Mablethorpe and was surprised to find himself loving it for an unexpected reason.
His first stop was the town’s promenade, where he came across a variety of attractions, including a go-kart track, an arcade, and a funfair.
„I can’t lie, the seafront and the promenade actually look really nice here,“ Jev said in his video.
But the surprise came when he reached the beach. He said: „The beaches are just so wide. I don’t know if it’s because the tide’s out or it’s just always like this.“

However, what truly set Mablethorpe apart for Jev was the complete lack of seagulls. „There are no seagulls here,“ he said in his video.
This meant that tourists could sit and enjoy their fish and chips in peace without the usual bird-related chaos that plagues many seaside towns. „It’s so peaceful here because of that,“ Jev said.
And, despite Mablethorpe’s reputation, Jev didn’t understand why people criticise it so much. „These places have a reputation for attracting the worst of society, but I don’t get that vibe here,“ he said.
He pointed out that the town was less commercialised than other seaside resorts, with only a handful of big-name shops like Gregg’s and Co-op. He even praised one local cafe, Coffee Lounge, where he enjoyed a caramel latte.
Of course, Jev acknowledged that Mablethorpe had its flaws, calling it „a bit tacky,“ but that didn’t seem to bother him. „It’s got everything you’d want and no seagulls,“ he added.
For Jev, the peace and quiet were more than enough to make up for any perceived shortcomings.
Many people in the comments agreed with his take, with one writing: „Mablethorpe is beautiful. The beaches are gorgeous, and it’s very clean.“
Another added: „We were only there on Sunday, and it was OK for a day. And now you’ve said it, yes, no seagulls.“ One frequent visitor to the town summed it up: „Mega beach there.“
Despite its negative reputation, Mablethorpe seems to have found a fan in Jev, who ended his visit by saying: „This place actually has quite a lot to offer.“
